About our rebate program

The City of Casey are supporting residents to improve the efficiency of their home and save money on their energy bills. 

Residents can hire energy and water efficiency home audit kits from their local library. The kit includes equipment and instructions to measure the efficiency of your home or business and shares tips to reduce your emissions and save you money. Visit Connected Libraries and search for ‘water and energy efficiency audit kit’.

After completing your audit using the kit, apply for a rebate from Council through Rebately of up to $200 to draught-proof your home. Terms and conditions apply.

How to Apply

1. Check the Eligibility Criteria 

Review the eligibility criteria and terms and conditions for your chosen sustainable product. To be eligible to receive a rebate, your sustainable product must be installed from the 17 November 2023 until XXXX.

2. Purchase and install your sustainable product 

Purchase your product from the rebates options available. Ensure that you have met the eligibility criteria for your chosen rebate.

3. Complete the application process

Complete the application process including all documents/images requested. This will assist to verify your eligibility to participate in the program. Click 'Apply Now' to submit your application.

To claim your rebate, please provide the following four documents.

  • Proof that you live in Casey;
  • Receipt or a quote and receipt of the draught proofing items you purchased;
  • Evidence you borrowed the Energy and Water Efficiency Home Audit kit; and
  • Evidence that you installed the draught proofing items at your home.

If an applicant does not have computer access, entries can be completed over the phone on 9705 5200 or at Customer Service.

1) Proof that you live in Casey

In the one photo or file please provide a rates or utility bill from the last 3 months that must detail:

  • Your full name
  • Address
  • Date

 

2) A copy of a quote or receipt of purchase

In each file or image, your receipt must include:

  • Your full name
  • The company name where you purchased the items from
  • Date of purchase
  • Cost and name of each item

All information listed in the dot points must be contained in the one image or file as proof of purchase. Several separate phone screenshots are not acceptable. You may need to contact the business in order to get a proper invoice. Email invoices are acceptable. This applies to all receipts you send in your application. 

For items purchased from a trade store, while in store take the items to the service desk and request a quote for the items. They will provide you with a document with the required details. Submit the quote and the receipt for the items. 

3) Proof that you used the Energy and Water Efficiency Home Audit Kit

The thermal imaging camera saves images to your phone. Please submit an image of the feature, such as a door or window where you will be draught proofing.

 

4) Photo that you have draught proofed your home

Please take an image or multiple images of the draught proofing item installed. For large areas such as multiple windows throughout a house, a sample selection of images can be provided. 

 

Council will not process the rebate if you do not provide the correct four pieces of information.

4. Receive your Sustainability Rebate 

Rebates are subject to the approval process and availability. If your form is approved by Council you will receive your sustainability rebate via electronic bank transfer. Add [email protected] to your email contacts to ensure you receive your claim status updates. 

Terms and Conditions

 

The City of Casey requiresd you to folow the application process. It also includes the following terms and conditions. 

 

Terms and Conditions

  1. Only available for properties in the City of Casey. The applicant must provide a proof of residence of Casey, e.g. a rates notice or utility bill that is a maximum of 3 months old.
  2. Council will accept only one application per household for an indefinite period. 
  3. The applicant must provide a copy of the receipt or proof of purchase. It must include the applicant's first and last name, company name, date, and clear identification of name and cost of each item purchased. 
  4. The copy of the invoice or proof of purchase must be whole, not a partial copy.
  5. Applicants must have borrowed and used a City of Casey Energy and Water Efficiency Home Audit Kit borrowed from a Casey library. Evidence must be provided. 
  6. Receipts for draught-proofing items must be dated from the past six (6) months.
  7. Applications are to be submitted online via the Rebately website only. If an applicant does not have computer access, entries can be completed over the phone on 9705 5200 or at Customer Service.
  8. Casey holds no responsibility for following up missing information supplied by the applicant.
  9. The City of Casey holds the right to reject any application, a reason will be provided in the rejection email.
  10. The rebate program may be paused at any time if budget allocations have been exhausted.
  11. Applications can be submitted for up to a maximum of $200. If the full $200 is not claimed additional applications cannot be made, the rebate is once per household only. 
  12. Rebates can be submitted for the following types of products: door and window draught stoppers, chimney draught stoppers, hot water system insulators and lagging (including the purchase of one roll of electrical tape), block out roller blinds, pelmets, honeycomb blinds, thermal blinds, window insulation, reflective window film, garage door weather seals, gap fillers and sealants.
  13. Rebates cannot be used for the following excluded items: Insulation batts or blow in, underfloor insulation, paying a trades person, double glazed windows, thick glazed windows, replacement of doors or windows, upgrades to plumbing or fixing water leaks, replacement of vents, upgrade to heating, cooling or lighting, energy efficient appliances, curtains, paint or other repair materials.
  14. Products must be installed by the resident or an un-paid helper. The rebate cannot be used to pay a trades person or require a technical trade to install including plumber, electrician, builder, insulation installer or glazier.
